PIANO STUDENTS
The T'iano Students' Association rocentlv devoted two meetings to n survey of German music, dividing it into tho classical and romantic periods. At the former, papers were read by Miss J. Ranston and Miss B. Poihnm, and illustrations were plnyed by Miss .1. Ranston, Miss P. Wallace, Aliss D. Hughes and Miss E. Nops. At the second meeting held 011 Monday night, Miss Wallace read two very interesting papers dealing with (ho lisp of romanticism in Cicrmmiy and the leading composers of the time. Tho following solos were played:—"Prelude in E Minor" (Mendelssohn), Miss P. Wallace; "Sadness of Soul" ■ (Mendelssohn), Miss E. Nops; La Fileuso (Raff), Miss 15. Pellmm, and a duo, "Grand Duo Concertant" (Weber), by (he Misses Joyce Parker nnd E, Blackburn Two novel competitions followed, nnri prizes were won bv Miss J. Piirker, Miss ,T, Smith and Miss M. J.'igusch.
