BIG FRENCH DEFICIT
HIGH (50 ST OF DEFENCE MILITARY GRANTS REDUCED (Received October 31, 8.35 p.m.) PARIS, Oct. 30 The French Prime Minister, M. Herriot, in a speech at Poitiers referred to the Budget crisis. H.J admitted that the deficit for 1933 would be £96,000,000, but said the Government already had saved £41,500,C00 by funding the internal debt of £11,500,000 and by reducing the military appropriations. One quarter of the total Budget, he said, went to national defence.
