WOMEN'S INSTITUTES

A SOCIAL GATHERING An enjoyable social gathering was held in the Victoria League rooms last evening by members of the Auckland Provincial Federation of Women's Institutes, to mark the close of the "federation conference which was held during the day. The rooms were decorated with bowls of arum lilies and other spring flowers, making an attractive sotting for the function. On arrival the guests, who included Sirs. Dudley Dorman, of Norfolk Island, the first president of the Auckland Federation, were received by tho present president, Mrs. S. V. Irwin, who wore a frock of black Chantilly lace. Enjoyable vocal items were rendered by Sirs. P. Lee, Sirs. J. 11. Wyatt and Sirs. L. Parry, the accompaniments being played by Mrs. Natusch. Supper was served during an interval in tho program mo and tho evening concluded with social intercourse.
