' "LA TOSCA" REPEATED * ' ; I SEASON NEARING THE END THE FINAL PRESENTATIONS Puccini's '-'La Tosca" was brilliantly interpreted by the Williamson Imperial Grand Opera Company at His Majesty's ' Theatre last evening. This was the second performance of the opera to be given during the season, and the strong cast ineluded Pedro Mirassou, Molly de Gunst, Franco Izal, Ilio del Chiaro and Michele Fiore. The season of opera is rapidly drawing to a close and only three more opportunities will be afforded of hearing one of the best companies to visit New Zealand. The only performance of "Tales of Hoffmann," one of the most attractive operas, will be given this evening. The presentation will be of particular interest as the cast includes practically all the international principals, with Lina Paliughi in her famous role of The Doll, Cesarina Valobra, Bruna Castagna, Primo Montanari, Apollo Granforte, Michele Fiore, Albino Marone, Lina Bianchi, Glasheen, Gillett, Moroney, Brien and Hood. The orchestra will be conducted by Signor Emilio Rossi. The final matinee of the season will be given to-morrow afternoon, when "Rigoletfo" will be presented with a brilliant cast, including Lina Paliughi, as Gilda, Primo Montanari, Franco Izal, Albino Marone, Lina Bianchi, Miehele Fiore, Glasheen, Brien, Hood, Moroney and Hammond. The conductor will be Wando Aldrovandi. To-morrow evening the final gala performance of the season will take place, commencing at 8 o'clock, when two of the ■ most successful operas of the repertoire, ".Cavalleria Rusticana" and "Pagliacci," will be presented with the original caifcs, •which include Valobra, Castagns, da Gun4t, Mirassou, Granforte, Alfieri, del Chiaro, Bianchi, Lynch and GUsheen. The performance will be conducted by Wando Aldrovandi. In consequence of the heavy booking for the performance of "Madame Butterfly" at the Theatre Royal, Hamilton, on Monday evening, the directors have completed arrangements to give a special matinee performance of "Carmen'-' in Hamilton on Monday.
