REPORTS OF MANAGERS Talisman Dubbo (Karangahake).—The drive at No. 1 Talisman level has been extended 12ft. for the week, making a total of 327 ft. A good class of country, carrying a number of quartz stringers, is being passed through. A small sulphide leader was cut an;l shows a fair tail of gold in the dish. golden PROGRESS CO. MONTH'S CLEAN-UP OF 1380 Z. The Golden Progress Quartz Mining Company, Limited .(Central Otago), reports that during the past month all development and prospecting work was temporarily suspended, and the men were put into the east and west end stopes respectively breaking out ore for the battery. Tho battery has been running one shift a day on the accumulated ore from development work, and also the ore coming to hand. A rough cleanup for the month produced a return of 158oz. Idwt. from 115 tons of quartz. Crushing was being and the stone now going to tlie mill was showing better values.
