ABATTOIRS TROUBLE

GO-SLOW MOVEMENT

SLAUGHTERMEN DISMISSED

MELBOURNE. Sept. 19

The trouble experienced at the metropolitan abattoirs as the result of the slaughtermen's go-slow policy of dealing with lambs for export reached a climax at the week-end. One large firm of exporters dismissed eight slaughtermen who had declined to adhere to the usual daily tallv of 100 lambs.

The dispute arose because the men desired to reduce the tally to 80 on account of the recent reductions in pay by the Arbitration Court.
