BOYS WITHOUT WORK
TRAINING AS FARMERS PROPOSED RUAKURA SCHEME [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Monday Advice has not yet been received of the Government's intentions in regard to the representations made by the Auckland Boys' Employment Committee to give 150 boys throe months' training in farming at the Ruakura State farm.
If the scheme is approved a great deal of preparation will be necessary and it is expected that not moro than 50 boys can be accommodated at a time. The scheme will involve the erection of special quarters for the boys and a portion of the farm will be set aside for them.
It is considered unlikely that the boys will be allowed to milk the pedigree cows in the main herds and that another herd will have to be procured for them to practise on. This will involve the erection of a separate milking shed and the installation of new equipment.
