NORTHCOTE HIGH SCHOOL

TECHNICAL FACILITIES The Northcote District High School Committee received a reply from the Director of Education at its meeting this week regarding the request that the technical facilities at the junior high school should be augmented by accommodation for a metal workshop for boys, besides dressmaking and millinery for girls, and evening classes. This stated that formal application could well bo made for recognition of technical classes at Northcote, provided that they would comply with the regulations, and that the department would not be involved in any expense for the provision'of additional accommodation and- equipment. Provision had already been made for tho teaching of dressmaking and millinery, so far as equipment was concerned, but it was regretted that at the present time it would not be possible for the department to make provision for metal work.
