SAVING STOCKINGS

When buying new hose always darn a place one inch square on each .stocking where the supporter fastens. This saves the stain on the hose, prevents ladders, and gives the stocking longer life. To remove car grease from stockings soak them over night in olive oil, then wash next morning in the usual way. Stockings frequently become marked at the ankles with shoe polish stain. To remove the marks rub with methylated spirits. Before wearing new hose always rinse them in cold water; this makes them last longer.
