Miss Betty Parr left this week on a visit to Nelson. Mrs. H. E. Barrowclough, of Auckland, is paying a visit to friends in Dunedin. Miss Joy Bishop, of Remuera, has left on a visit to Otaki and the National Park. Mrs. A. J. Petterson, of Ocean View Road, Milford, left, yesterday on a visit to Titirangi. Mrs. J. J. Williams, of Wellington, is visiting Auckland and is staying at the Central Hotel. The Misses Dill-Edwards, of Melbourne, are visiting Auckland and are staying at the Station Hotel. Mrs. F. C. Hargreaves and Mrs. A. E. Andrews, of Rawene, are visiting Auckland, and are staying at the Central Hotel. Mrs. W. R. Brinsley, of Dunedin, who has been the guest of Mrs. P. Lightbourne, Shelly •Beach Road, left yesterday for Taranaki. Among the large number of those who were assisting at the stalls in connection with St. Mary's Homes Winter Fair wore Mrs. J- Hawkes, Mrs. E. R. Vickerman, Mrs. Collins, Miss Connolly and Miss Ford. Miss Ada Necker, of Auckland, previously music mistress at the Auckland Diocesan School for many years, has been appointed U> the position of music mistress at the Waikato Diocesan School for Girls, Hamilton.

A new croquet club in Morningside—the Malvern Club—held its first meeting on Saturday. There was a good attendance of members and the following officers were elected President, Mrs. Preston; vicepresidents, Mesdames Young and Hemus; hon. secretary, Mrs Harris; assistant secretary, Mrs. Curtain; treasurer, Mrs. McAneney; match committee, Mesdames Rowden, Harris and McAneney; committee, Mesdames Roylance, Rowden, Dent, Hodson and Kingdon. The Bayswater-Belmont Women's Society met recently, Mrs. F. E. N. Gaudin presiding. An address was given by Nurse Stronick, of the Plunket Society It was decided that the ladies would organise various functions to raise funds for the Plunket Society. An appeal for remnants of material, to be made into garments for the needy, brought a ready response from the members of the society. Among those present were: —Mesdames F. E. N. Gaudin, W. G. Thomas, L. L. Rabbidge, "Powell, W. Rambaud, B. Francis, B. Smith, C. Thomas, Eckett, M. Blampied, H. Whitehorn, Davies, Le Marchand, H. Bach, Holmes, Kirby, Proude, Snelling, W. R. Macken, Misses N. Blampied and M. Thomas.
