FALSE PRETENCES CHARGE

STORY OF SON'S DEATH MAORI KNOWN AS "FRIDAY" A Maori, To Aho te Hae, aged 50, labourer, was charged in the Police Court yesterday with fraudulently obtaining £lO from George Mac Murray bv falsely representing that his son had died and that he wanted the money to take the body from Auckland to Kawhia. Tho alleged offence is stated by the police to have been committed on July 31. "Accused, who is better known as •Friday,' will probably have other charges preferred against him," remarked Detec-tive-Sergeant Kelly, in obtaining a remand until August 11. Bail was not sought.
