RESIGNATION OF MEMBER SUCCESSOR APPOINTED 1 WASHINGTON, Aug » The President, Mr. Hoover, to-day received and accepted the resignation of tho Secretary of Commerce, Mv. Robert P. Lamont.
Mr. Hoover appointed Mr. Roy Chapin, chairman of the Hudson Motor Car Company, of Detroit, as Mr. Lamont s successor. The President 6aid Mr. Lamont had found it necessary to resign in order to re-enter private business. He praised the work of Mr. Lamont.
