MUNICIPAL OFFICERS

SOCIAL CLUB BALL The Town Hall was thronged with dancers last evening on'the occasion of the annual ball of the Municipal Officers' Social Club. The big chamber was arranged with couches and chairs under the circle and also at the far end opposite the stage long trails of lycopodiura were hung from a swinging centre-piece and these were looped to the sides, partly hiding hundreds of small brightly-shaded electric lights, Trellised alcoves, intertwined with native greenery, took away the bareness of the side walls. A mass of ferns and foliage arranged on the stage made an attractive background for Mr. Trevor Eady's orchestra, which supplied the dance music.
