Mrs. George Pezaro, of Remuera Road, left last evening on a visit to Christchurch. Miss A. Moss, of Takutai Street, Parnoil, returned yesterday from a visit to Wellington. Mrs. Henry Lee, of New York, has returned to Auckland from a visit to Rotorua, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. M. Armstrong and Miss D. Armstrong, of Christchurch, have left for Auckland, where Miss Armstrong will join tho Rangitiki, en route for England. Mrs. Douglas Rathbone, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs. R. G. Rainger, of Brighton Hall, ParnelJ, has returned to Wellington, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Rathbone, of Waingaro. A drawing room meeting of the Mount Eden branch of tho W.O.T.U. was held at tho residenco of Mrs. Pickering, of Epsom, recently. Mrs. Kaspar, district president, gave an interesting address on "Drink." Singing and afternoon tea concluded tho afternoon. The Kohiroarsrna and St. Holiers branch of tho W.C.T.U. met on Wednesday. Mrs. Kaspar presided. Mrs. Brocklehurst gave a few facts about the organisation, in explanation of its many branches of work. Several reforms now on the Statute Book were largely gained through the efforts of the W.0.T.U., she said, and nottheloast of theso was tho enfranchisement of women. Tho Mothers' Club of tho Y.W.C.A. met this week, Mrs. Edwards presiding. Items were contributed by tho following:— Mesdames Jury, Collier, Walker, Mann, Wilton and McConnell. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames McCarthy, McMurtrio, Baker and Croton. A successful social was also held during tho week. The various items rendered were very much enjoyed. St. Thomas' Orchestra supplied the music.
