RANGITAIKI COMPANY OUTPUT FURTHER INCREASED The report of tho Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Company, Limited, Whakatano, shows that tho company manufactured 2983 tons of butter during tho year ended June 30, an increase of 469 tons, or 18.67 per cent. The grading was as follows: Finest, 88.34 per cent; first, 11.58 per cent; second, 0.08 per cent. Tho task of marketing the largo output to tho best advantage, tho report states, had been a difficult one, owing to the frequent fluctuations in tho market. Various f.o.b. sales were made. Tho net cash return to suppliers for the season over all grades was 11.73 d a lb. at farm gate, and with cream cartage, cost of veterinary department and 6 per cent dividend added to tho total, tho return over all grades was 12.025 d a lb. , To copo with the expansion of the company's business, further extensions had been made to the buildings and plant. In the veterinary department a laboratory iiad been built and two veterinarians wero now employed. The cost of manufacture from factory door to f.o.b. was 0.457 d a lb. butter-fat and 0.377 d a lb. butter. The total gross expenses from cream dump to f.0.b., including' cart ago, manufacturing, administration, veterinary department and dividend of 6 por cent, was 1.541 d a lb. butter-fat and 1.272 d fi lb. butter. Tho total return of butter sales, including £83,,859 for butter not yet sold, was £302,647. ORURUFAIRBURN COMPANY POSITION VERY SATISFACTORY Tho annual general meeting of tho Oruru-Fairlurn Cooperative Dairy Factory Company, Limited, w&s held at Peria, when there was an attendance of about 70 shareholders. The chairman of directors, Mr. J. W. Hoskin, presided. Tho balance-sheet disclosed a very satisfactory position and was adopted without any adverse comment. It was decided to pay a dividend of 5 per cent upon all fully-paid shares. Tho meeting decided to forward a strong protest to the Minister of Agriculture against tho granting of a licence for another grading store at Auckland. The postal ballot for the election of four directors resulted in the return of Messrs. C. J. Campbell, J: W., Hoskin, J. M. Dawson and J. Garton. At a subsequent meeting of directors Mr. Hoskin was reelected chairman. Mr. W. H. Atkinc was appointed auditor.
