TAIL-WAGGERS' CLUB
' POPULAR MOVEMENT LOCAL MEMBERSHIP DOUBLED , Remarkable progress lias been made in the Dominion by the Tail Waggers' Clnb since its formation in Wellington on May 2. Formed as an organisation of dog loven to promote the welfare of dogs of every description, the idea has immediately com* mended itself to a wide circle, and yesterday the Dominion membership was 1397. Mr. P. R. Wingrove, the organising secretary, has been visiting Auckland in *the interests of the club, and succeeded in adding 100 members in abont a weekLocal members now number nearly 200, but there is no local organisation, it being the club's policy to have all office work centralised in Wellington. Hutchinson Brothers, Limited, have agreed to act as local agents, and to forward any applications for membership to headquarters, where suggestions for the working of the club will also be welcomed. The Tail Waggers' Club is already operating in Christchhrch, and Mr. Win-. grove's next visit will be to Dunedin to a form a branch there. Before returning to Wellington last evening Mr. Wingwr* said ho had been much indebted to tho officials of the Auckland Kennel Association, who had given him great assistance and shown an interest in the welfare of all dogs, although officially their association was concerned only with pedigree animals.
