One new member has been elected to the Auckland Education Board as a result of an election for three members representing the Auckland urban area. Nine nominations were received, and the re- t tiring members of the board were Messrs. G. Brownlee. H. S. W. King, and T. U. Wells. Mr. King, who has been on the • board for 14 years, did not seek reelection. Following is the result of the voting:— Auckland Urban Area.—Successful: G., Brownlee. 197; T. U. Wells, 167; C. R. Munro, 142. Unsuccessful: A. E. Greenslade, 83; S. Vella, 60; E- M. Newton, 55; F. I. Mcßride, 33; M. M. Drearer, _ 27; S. A. Kemp, 7.
