BRUTAL MURDER

YOUNG STUDENT'S CRIME CALLOUS ADMISSION SAN FRANCISCO. July 27 A dreadful crime, comparable with the Loeb-Leopold case, has been unearthed by the police at Oakland, California After having committed a murder with a knife, George Templeton, a student at the University of California, calmly said, "Yes, I did it." Templeton, 20 years old, confessed that he slashed Mrs. William Ilabcock to death and pounded her husband so badly that he may die. Templeton's father and Babcock were wealthy importers of Manila goods until ft quarrel broke the partnership. Having two shillings, a kniife was the only weapon young Templeton could buy. After the family had retired at midnight, he crept into Mrs. Babcock'si room and inflicted a dozen cuts across her throat and breast. He then attacked her husband, but made so much noise when escaping that the servants were aroused.
