BODY TAKEN FROM GRAVE
ACTION BY CITY POLICE EXAMINATION BY DOCTORS An unusual task was carried out at O'Neill's Point Cemetery, Takapuna, early yesterday morning by a party acting under the instructions of the headquarters' officers of the police force at. Auckland. This was the exhumation of the body of a middle-aged man who died somo months
ago. It is understood that at that time tho cause of duath was certified as cerebral hemorrhage. An autopsy was performed at tho city mortuary during the day and (he body was 7'cinterred Into in the afternoon. Tho police are reticent concerning the reasons for these activities. When it was decided to have the body exhumed application was mndo to the Minister of Health, tho Hon. J. A. Young, for permission to open the grave and this was received. Tho operations, which were commenced at 6.30 a.m. yesterday, were watched by Detective-Sergeant M; O'Sullivan, Detective Brady, Dr. D. N. W. Murray, Dr. W, Gilmtour, pathologist at the Auckland Hospital, and Mr. K. Griffin, Government antiVst at Auckland. The autopsy was carried out by Dr. Murray and Dr. Gilmour.
