A large and well-attended afternoon was held in Daly's Hall at Takapuna yesterday, given by the Takapuna Central Council of Women and the members of the Western Area Ratepayers in honour of Mrs. J. C. Blomfield, who was elected a member of the Takapuna Borough Council at a recent by-election. The hall was attractively arranged with bowls of blue irises and pot plants. Mrs. Blomfield wore a frock of black satin beauto and maroon felt hat. She was assisted in receiving by her daughter, Miss Desma Blomfield, who wore a jumper suit in 'nattier blue, with hat to tone.
