FARMERS' MOTOR LICENCES

Sir, —In my opinion, the proposition advocated by Mr. R. Covle is preposterous. If it pays a farmer to keep and register a motor-truck, he must pay for it just the same as any other user! Perhaps Mr. Coyle imagines the farmer is the only person who is obliged to keep his vehicle unoccupied for long stretches at a time, but I can assure him such is not the case. The suggestion to further increase the tax on benzine is without doubt a very bright idea, as if the existing tax was not heavy enough on car owners. I would certainly commend it for the drivers of foreign trucks, buses and cars, and other machinery of foreign manufacture, be it farm machinery or manufacturing. Veritas.
