MOUNT ROSKILL AFFAIRS
IMPROVING SEYMOUR PARK A scheme of ground improvements for tho playing of cricket at Seymour Park was decided upon by the Mount Iloskill lload Board at its meeting last evening. Three cricket pitches are to bo laid down in tho park at a cost not exceeding £ls each. > "Tho expenditure is ffully justified," said Mr. J. Donald. "An income will be obtained, and the money received can then bo used for a more comprehensive scheme." Tho work will be commenced immediately. It was decided that a special meeting of tho board should bo held on Tuesday, in order to go fully into tho whole question of tho water supply in the district. Tho cost of repairing the shelter shed at Greenwood's Corner was the subject of letters received from the Auckland Transport Board and the One Tree Hill Borough Council. Tho Transport Board offered to contribute 50 per cent of the cost on tho basis that tho estimate of £ls 8s 6d was not exceeded. The One Tree Hill Borough Council agreed to con* tribute to the cost- provided tho council's share did not exceed £3 17s 2d. It was decided to defer tho matter pending a reply from the City Council. Tho building inspoctor reported, that permits had been issued to the value of £454, including one for a dwelling.
