With the cinders providing Rood footing t Epsom yesterday morning trainers sent heir horses nlontf solidly and several dismayed fine speed when allowed to step out ver the final stages of their work. (L. Laver) ran the last milo of a workout ovor three circuits in 2.33. Tho pace was not on until the final lap, Rolfe Audubon then moving up to force Pedlar along. In the run home Rolfe Audubon his stablemate safely and they finished on terms to register 1.13 for the final half. Dad's Hope (A. Allen) dashed over ft mile and a-quarter in 2.5G and could have shown a bis improvement on this, if allowed to run right out in the final stages.. Dad s Hope reached tho six furlongs post in 1.45, but a furlong further on was steadied to cover the last half-mile in 1.11. After working two useful rounds witti Autumn Lu (G. Stubbs), Gold Seam (L. McMahon) accompanied Isellota (L. Mitchell) over a mile and a-half. with halj a mile covered, Guid Hairst (P. J. Smith) joined in, but ho went away slowly, and Gold Seam and Nellota were well clear, commencing the final circuit. Morrison) made no mistakes over four circuits at a useful clip He was not hurried at any stage, but over the last half-mile improved to a 2.30 mile B ' l Great Fame (A. Patten) led Dan Direct (A T Nowdick) for a milo and s-quarter of a milo and a-half task, but tho paco was only moderate. Dan Direct was then 6ent along and headed Great Fame Hist before tho post was reached. Tho final quarter was run in 3Ss. Tho novice trotters, Commodore .Tack (I. Morrison) and Peter Drift (T. Carlyon), eho wed improvement whilo working together over three laps. Peter Drift broke just before entering upon the last half, but settled down smartly, and finished on terms, tho last half being run in 1.18 2-5. Parrish Bello (A. G. Pillenger) was given a lot of steady work on tho sand track. She looks in splendid health and is ready to commence a solid preparation. J. Shaw put in an appearance with La Triumph, who has shaped up reasonably well sinco being spelled.
