SCENE AT SOUTHAMPTON CRUISES WELL PATRONISED RECORD AIR TRAFFIC By Telegraph—"Press Association—Copyright (Received August 1. 5.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, July 31 Southampton is the scene of record ■ activity this week-end. Twenty-two vessels, totalling 600,000 tons, including tho Empress of Britain, tho Aquatania, the Berengaria, the Olympic, tho Homeric and other of the world's largest liners are sailing on holiday cruises to the Mediterranean and other ports and on cruises round the British Isles. Bookings for these cruises, which are four times as great ae last year's bookings, provide evidence of the growing movement to spend holidays cruising in British vessels. Imperial Airways announce that all their previous records for air transport will be broken this week-end.
