AMATEUR ATHLETICS DOMINION COUNCIL AFFAIRS [BY TFT.pr.R VTTT —PRESS ASSOCIATION - ] j WELLINGTON, Monday At a meeting of tho council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association this evening the Canterbury Centre advised that the New Zealand cross-country championship meeting would bo held at Christchurch on August 27. ' The harrier sub-committee of tho Welling--1 ton Centre wrote asking that the. following J remit should be placed on tho agenda paper . of the Harrrera' Conference, to be at Christchurch on .August 26: "That the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association stage t a marathon road race annually at a time and place to be arranged." The Wellington Ccntfe offered to stage such a race if i ;it was arranged. , The:, secretary said the subject had been disoussed at a conference at Auckland, when it had been decided that nothing should bo done by tho council until the centres had staged BUch races. ■ The Canterbury Centre "wrote stating that Lancaster Park had been engaged for March ■ 10 and March 11, 1933," for the holding of tho New Zealand track and' field championships, subject to the council appvoving of I the dates.
