POWER BOARD AFFAIRS

OPERATIONS AT TAURANGA [from our own correspondent] TAURANGA, Saturday The Tauranga Electric-Power Board has received a consignment of 350 hardwood poles from Australia, which are to be utilised for small high tension extensions and replacements. It is proposed to alter the route of the 3000-volt line to Otumoetai across the Waikarcao Estuary, but the work cannot be proceeded with until tho plans have been approved by the Marine Department, the Public Works Department and the Tauranga Harbour Board. The expansion in the dairying industry is indicated by tho fact that the Power Board has been approached by about 20 farmers for new connections to milking sheds, and 15 of theso have been finalised.
