PRESENTATIONS

For 35 years a member of the Public Service, Mr. C. . V. Roberts, clerk of the Magistrate's Court at Onehunga and Ota- r huhu, is to retire on superannuation j,shortly. He has been granted three months leave of absence prior to his retirement. A presentation of a travelling rug was recently made to Mr. Roberts on behalf of the police and residents of Onehunga. In making the presentation Sergeant S. A. Brown paid <i tribute to Mr. Roberts services during the five years he held the position. Mr. 0. S. Harvey, Court bailiff* v.-* will occupy the position of clerk of the Magistrate's Court at Onehunga in the meantime. • . ; A presentation was made to Dr. J. WCraven, medical superintendent of Auckland Hospital, on behalf of the members ; of the Birkenhead and Noithcote Orphans Club at the opening gathering at Birkenhead on Saturday evening. Dr. Craven is a past president of the club. The presi- ■ dent of the club, Mr. R. S. G. Holland. • conveyed appreciation of the services 01 Dr. Craven for the club and for the district generally. Dr. Craven suitably replied, stating that he would visit the clup again.
