ALLEGED POISONING DOCTORS DENY SUICIDE ATTEMPT (Received July SH, 5.5 p.m.) LOS ANGELES, July 30 'A former film actresii, Miss Lina Basijuette, 25 years old, biscamo seriously ill yesterday a few hours after she had announced her engagement, to 1 Teddy Hayes, tho former trainer of the ex-champion , heavy-weight boxer, Jack Dempsey, to stifle rumours that shts might marry ' Dempsey. The police reported that beside the actress they found a note addressed to Dempsey reading: "I love you and only ;you. I could not help it. I could not go on i without you." I'hysicians state that the woman's conclition is critical. She has been twice married. She is alleged to have taken Jjoison after spending the evening with Hayes. Dr. Ivo Lopizich, police surgeon, made li final report in which he said ho had found no traces of poison.
