BOAT RACE ON HARBOUR

CREWS FROM RANGITIKI A boat raco between members of the crew of the New Zealand Shipping Company's motor-liner Rangitiki took place on Saturday morning. The contest was for a silver cup presented by Mr. G. W. Eraser, the steward-in-charge ;/ arid was between a boat's crew of deck hands and one of stewards. The deck hands won by a length. The boats used were two of the ship's lifeboats each driven by a propeller worked by hand. The course, abouf, three-quarters of a mile in length, was from a point in the stream to the Admiralty steps, between Queen's Wharf and Central Wharf. This is the third time the deck hands have won, the previous races having takon place at other ports.
