AN OLD ORGAN

Sir, —It may not be generally known that a very fine-toned small pipe organ, which was formerly in old St. Paul's Church, Britomart Hill, has quite a history attached to it. Built early in the last century by Bishop and Starr, famous builders, of London, it was re-erectcd by the late Mr. Willmett, of Ponsonby, and opened for the first time after its renovation by Mr. J- H. Phillpot, organist of St. Matthew's, thirty years ago. It is still in constant use in the Baptist Church, Jervois Road, Ponsonby. F. W. MAY.
