PROVISION OF MOTOR-CAR HOSPITAL BOARD'S ESTIMATES [FROM OUK OWN CORRESPONDENT] TAURANGA, Friday A letter was received from tho DirectorGeneral of Health at a meeting of the Tauranga Hospital Board stating that, upon receipt of amended estimates making provision for a car for tho native nurse, tho ostimates would be submitted :fdr tho approval of tho Minister. At its last meeting the board objected to providing n, car for tho nurse, stating it considered that if a car wero required ifc should bo provided by tho Native Department or ■ out of tho grants to the Arawa Trust. Tho board has in its district a largo number of tho Arawa tribe and repeated applications to the Arawa Trust for payment of fees incurred by indigent natives liavo boen unsuccessful. Tho secretary of tho board, Mr. Lumley, said the estimated amount for tho car would be £2OO. A motion was carried agreeing under protest to (ho Health Department's roquest that tho sum of £2OO bo placed on tho estimates for tho purchase of a-car for tho native nurse.
