NATIONAL PARK DISTRICT

MAP AND GUIDE ISSUED INFORMATION FOR MOTORISTS A particularly clear and concise map and guido to tho Tongariro National Park district has been issued by the Auckland Autoniobilo Association, for tho benefit of motorists visiting tho district. The publication, which was printed by Wilson and Horton, Limited, has won favourable comment not only in Now Zealand, but also overseas, a Honolulu resident having said that Honolulu had never issued a moro informative and striking booklet in connection with its tourist activities. In tho opinion of Mr. R, Cobbe, manager of tho Chateau Tongariro, the section giving hints for mountaineering parties will bo extremely helpful to visitors, and will help to make climbers realise that mountains are not i, ways quito as safe as they look. Assistance in the preparation of tho map was given by tho Land and Survey Department, while the Alpine Sports Club aided tho association in compiling tho information concerning mountaineering trips. The publication includes details of the facilities available at tho Chateau, and enumerates tho many trips to places of interest' that can bo mado by visitors, either in their cars' or on foot. There aro also particulars of the motor-camping facilities.
