« THE cry in the night " Publication of a dramatic and stirring new serial by Ottwcll Binns entitled "■ Tho Cry In The Night " commences in tho columns of tho New Zealand llerald Supplement to-day. Sir Martin Charlton no longer a soldier in tho French Foreign Legion—is returning to England when ho makes tho acquaintance on tho boat of Roberta Rowthorne, who is usually known as "Bobbie." Slio is attracted to this tall ex-Legionnaire. Both are acquainted with ono Studholme—Sir Martin to his cost, for Studholme and his gang tricked him into a marriage ho had since regretted, lie is therefore on his way to England to " havo it out with him." On arrival he goes to Pondichorry Lodge, where Studholme lives, and whilo there a woman screams and rushes to him. It is Bobbie! Tho position is serious. Bobbie must bo shielded. No ono must know sho went to seo Studholme. Inspector Ransoino has to discard more than ono tenablo theory before ho can fasten tho guilt -where it belongs.
