July 28 The draw for the singles matches in the ' challenge round of the Davis Cup contest between tho United States and France is as follows: — /To-morrow. —Jean Borotra (France) v. Ellsworth Vines, Henri Cochet (France) .v. Wilmer Allison. ,Sunday.—Borotra v. Allison, Cochet v. .Vines. It is considered that the 'luck of the draw has favoured America. French critics would have liked Cochet to meet Vines on Friday at his fittest. As Borotra is /playing in both singles, tho doubles team is likely to bo Cochot and Jacques Biugn-ui. Cochet, therefore,, will face . .Vines on his third successive day's play, whereas Vines will rest on Saturday because the American doubles pair is expected to bo Allison and John Van Ryn.
