Rashid confessed the crime and made no defence. In the tenth political outrage in India this year, Captain W. Coldstream, of the Indian Medical Service, who also was a civil surgeon, was murdered on July 22 by a young Moslem orderly as he was carrying out the rounds of the hospital at Peshawar. The assailant leaped upon Captain Coldstream from behind and stabbed him in the neck. The victim died instantly.
