Tho Duke of Marlborough oponed a fete at Charlbury, Oxford, on June 24 from tho middle of the ring of a miniature circus, which was ono of the attractions. Tho audience could not bo lured from tho ringside to tho platform where the ceremony should have taken place. " As you won't come to me, I had to como to yon," said the Duke. 110 added with a smile, "I am well aware that a cir i:s is a greater attraction than a Duke."
