DRAWING ROOM MEETING
A very successful drawing room meeting was held at the residence of Mrs. E. J. Taylor, of Mount Albert, in the interests of the League of Nations Union yesterday afternoon. Mrs. John Cook, vice-president of the union, introduced the speaker, Mr. Archi bald, secretary, and referred •to his enthusiasm and untiring efforts in the cause of peace. Mr. Archibald spoko of the duty of Christians to further this peace movement and atone for the neglect of it in the past. He traced world conditions from the birth of Christ up to the time of the Great War and the establishment of the League of Nations. The necessity of forming a strong public opinion in support of the league was pointed out, and he also stressed the point that it was an educative body and was welding together all classes in its work for peace. In proposing a vote of thanks to the speaker, Mrs. Taylor said that such an address must be helpful in furthering the work of the league. Many members were present, and at thfe conclusion of the address tea was served.
