A PUKEMIRO DISPUTE

Sir, —Kindly allow me space to correct a statement in Tuesday's issue regarding stop-work meeting held at Pukemiro on Monday morning. It was not on account of one miner being under wages. There were eight in all, I being only one of the miners concerned, and refusing to draw my pay until it was made up to the minimum wage. According to the agreement we are now working under, if a miner does nofc make wages (16s 2d per day) through no fault of his own, he is to be made up to same, and I was only asking for this to bo done. A. Swift.
