OBITUARY.
MRS. MARY ANN.WILCOX. The earliest days of mining on the Thames goldfields are recalled by the death on Saturday of Mrs. Mary Ann Wilcox, of Thames, at tho ago of 93 years. Mrs. Wilcox, who was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. David Veatch, of Balahady, County Cavan, North Ireland, came to New Zealand in 1869 in the ship Chile. She took up her residence at Thames, where she had resided ever since. Her husband, the late Mr. John Wilcox, was a mine manager at Thames. ' Mrs. Wilcox is survived by three sons and one daughter. There are nine grandchildren and five great-grand-children. MR. PAUL FRISK. [FROM our own correspondent.] HAMILTON, Tuesday. The death occurred yesterday of Mr. Paul Prisk, of Wellington Street, Hamilton East,, at the age of 68 years. Born in Cornwall, England, Mr. Prisk went with his parents to South Australia when two years of age. His father was engaged at the Moonta copper mines, where tho hardships, endured by the pioneers may bo gauged by the fact that water for all purposes could be obtained only by condensation. Mr. Prisk was married in New South Wales, and in 1904 came to New Zealand, residing in Waihi until lie came to Hamilton in" 1912. He was a member of Lodge Beta Waikato, and for many years acted as tyler of the lodge. Mr. Prisk is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. E. M. Walters, of Auckland, and Miss M. Prisk, of Hamilton, and three sons, Messrs. C. 8., A. S. and J. R. Prisk, of Hamilton.
