WHEAT FROM AUSTRALIA.

FIRST SHIPMENT ARRIVES. TOTAL OF 4000 TONS. The first shipment of wheat to reach New Zealand from Australia under tho arrangement made by tho Government was brought to Auckland yesterday by tho steamer Kairanga from Gcelong. Tho consignment comprised 4000 tons. A total of 850,000 bushels of wheat is to bo imported over a period of about three months. To follow the Kairanga, the Union Company's cargo steamer Kaikorai is loading wheat in South Australia for New Zealand, but her ports of discharge have not been announced.
