INCREASE IN BRITAIN. FIGURES FALL IN GERMANY. LONDON, July 12. In the light of the objectives of tlio Lausanno agreement an interesting comparison is provided by Britain's 1,747,000 unemployed as at June 27, which is an increase of 6037 for the month and 82,454 more than at tlio corresponding date last year, and Germany's total of idle at Juno 30—5,476,000. This represents a decrease over three months of 653,000, while the recipients of the dole have decreased 90.000 in the past fortnight.
