THE MYERS KINDERGARTEN.

EFFORTS BY THE MOTHERS. Since the Government is no longer suli sidising the kindergartens the problem o keeping them in existence is a very diffi cult one to face in these lean days. I simply means that parents' and peopl who are strong supporters of tlio wor] have to take matters in hand themsolve and do what they can to raise money fo their support. A splendid example c this determination is shown by th parents of children attending the Myer Kindergarten—who wero responsible fo the following efforts—a dance and can evening held at tho kindergarten on Jim 25, which realised a euchre part; organised by one of the mothers, whic! realised £1 10s. From June 20 to June 2' a "bottlo week" was held, in which every ono collected bottles, took them in peram bulators to a factory in Nelson Stree and sold them, realising a sum of 15s With this amount material was bought divided among the mothers, and made uj into dressing gowns, frocks, etc., for "bring and buy" sale, which was heli this month. Tho salo realised £ls, am no effort was spared to make it a success Such a whole-hearted determination t keep tho kindergarten in existence show how much the parents realise tho valu of its work, and how keen they aro fo its continuance.
