Tom, aged 18, broke his ankle early in the afternoon, while Humphrey, nged 20, was picked up unconscious about 11.30 p.m. on the Kopu Eoad,-near the abattoirs, and now lies in a semi-con-scious condition in the Thames Hospital. Apparently he had run into a horse or a cow, as on the controls of his motor-cycle handlebar was a bunch of animal hair. Young Autridge passed Mr. Lowe a little earlier, but when near the abattoirs Mr. Lo.ve saw his body on the road and the motor-cycle close at hand. Mr. Lowe summoned the ambulance and on admittance to the hospital Autridge was found to bo suffering from concussion and head injuries. He has been unable to give any account as to how the accident happened. Earlier in the day, at 3.30 p.m., Tom Autridge, who is an apprentice at a local motor garage, jumped from a staging, breaking his ankle.
