The outrage draws attention to a form of sheep stealing that has developed of late. Pcoplfe drive out from Christchurch, kill sheep on some secluded property, and take the carcases back to town. Farmers are indignant over the manner in which they are being plundered. Many carrying guns are now patrolling their properties at week-ends.
"Mountain Meadows'' is only one of many properties on which all trespassing is now forbidden.
