BODY IN HARBOUR.
UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN.
WATERFRONT ROAD DISCOVERY.
COAT AND HAT UNDER BRIDGE.
After her coat, hat and some other effects had been discovered under . the bridge on the waterfront road near the Parnell Baths early yesterday afternoon, the body of a woman, aged between 50 and 60 years, was found floatipg in the harbour in the vicinity- shortly after 3 p.m.. The woman had ncit been identified at a late hour last evening. The coat and hat, beside which were lying a scarf, gloves, a purse and a gold wristlet watch, were seen- by Mr. A. A. Storm, of Alfred Street, as he was walking along the foreshore. He notified the Parnell police, and a short time later the body of the woman was recovered. Dr. J. A. Watson, of St. Stephen's Avenue, and a constable applied artificial respiration, but without success. It in thought that the body had been in the water to? about one and a-half hours.
The woman, who was, sft. 7in. in height, had grey hair. She possessed no teeth, and there was an operation scar on the left side of her chin. She was dressed in a maroon stockinette dress and a maroon jumper with fa.wn stripes, and wore brown silk stockings. The hat was of blue felt with a black feat,her, and the coat was of dark brown tweed.
