NEED FOR REGULATIONS.

Ihe opinion that the time has arrived for the proper control of bicycles, was expressed by Mrs. A. I. Fraer, at a meeting of the Christchurch City Council. In accordance with a notice of motion, she moved that a committee be set up to devise some method of controlling bicycles in crowded thoroughfares. Mrs. Fraer commented on the manner in which irresponsible cyclists ignored the automatic traffic signals at the intersection of Cashel Street with Colombo Street, and argued that their actions constituted a danger to the very young and the very old. The question was referred to the By-laws Committee for consideration and report..
