WHOOPING.
The aftcr-treitment of whooping cough is just as important as the treatment, of (hp cough itself. Fresh air is essential, and there is io reason why the child should he kept indoors until all the paroxysmal cough has gone Generally, vvien the illness has lasted six weeks and a whoop has not been heard for a foitnight, there is no danger of infection.
Plenty of fresh air ensures that there will be no subsequent lung trouble, but care must be tnken to avoid chills. Cod liver oil can be strongly recommended, and should be given three times a day. .A tonic during convalescence is usually necessary and the compound syrup of iron piosphates is the best. Obstinate canes often improve quickly with a change of climate.
