Those who thirst after intimate knowledge of the great were able to see, at the Royal Amateur Art Exhibition recently, the actual pen with which Queen Victoria signed her name at her coronation —when she took the oath.

This had been lent by the King to the loan section of historical objects connected with the writing table, to fill one of the receptions rooms at Chesterfield 1 louse.
