ROMANCE OF BARONET.
DANCER AS A BRIDE. The marriage was celebrated at the British Consulate at Palma, Majorca, recently of Sir Charles Markhain, Bart., son of the lato Sir Arthur Markham, Liberal M.P. and coal-owner, to Miss Anne Vanscolina, a beautiful Anglo-Swedish dancer. Sir Charles Markham, who is 32, succeeded to the baronetcy in 1916. He was married, in 1920, to Miss Gwladys Beckett, daughter of the Hon. Rupert Beckett, but the marriage was dissolved in 1927. Sir Charles entered the Diplomatic Corps in 1919, and was attached to the High Commission to Russia in 191920. Two years ago Sir Charles challenged Camera to a 200-yards race in Regent's Park, and won. In 1928 he crossed the Sahara Desert in a motor-car.
