APPEAL FOR HELP.
CATHOLIC ORPHANAGES. A special appeal for assistance is being made by the Catholic Women s which acts as auxiliary to the Catholic orphanages at Howick and Takapuna. I" both of these places over 150 children ar* cared for, and new admissions, avo being made daily, due chiefly to unemployment and the consequent inability of many « keep homes together. Like everything else, the orphanages are feeling keen} the depression, particularly a 3. so many former sources of income aro uoU " existent. ... Donations of groceries and produce w be welcomed. A receiving depot has been established at the league rooms, Union Buildings, Customs Street East.
